Att. Yael Vias Gvirsman is a leading expert in criminal and international humanitarian law, with 20 years of litigation experience representing victims of crimes against humanity worldwide. Yael is a graduate of the Humanitarian Department at the UN Secretariat in New York, the International Law Department at the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Attorney’s Office, and the International Affairs Department at the State Attorney’s Office. Over the years, she has been involved in humanitarian aid and international law across multiple arenas. She is the first Israeli woman to represent clients at The Hague—both in defense and in victim representation—setting legal precedents and successfully handling cases from start to finish. Since 2008, she has consistently presented arguments before four international criminal tribunals, including those for Rwanda, Sierra Leone, and the former Yugoslavia. She has appeared before the High Court of Justice since 2011 and has worked extensively on cases related to war crimes, victim representation, and strengthening investigations of international crimes in Ukraine, Congo, Sudan, and other regions. In addition to her legal practice, Yael advises international organizations in her field of expertise. She is the founder of the Criminal and International Humanitarian Law Clinic at Reichman University, a board member of the ALMA Association for the Advancement of International Humanitarian Law, and a member of both the International Law Association (ILA) and the War Crimes and Human Rights Forum of the International Bar Association (IBA).

Alona is a Legal Assistant at October 7 Justice Without Borders (O7J). She is currently pursuing a dual bachelor's degree in Law and Government at Reichman University. Alona is a graduate of the Clinic for International Criminal and Humanitarian Law, where she later served as the Clinic Coordinator following her participation in the program. She holds the rank of Major (Res.) in the Israel Defense Forces and currently serves as Deputy to the Medical Officer of the Gaza Division. Prior to the October 7 attacks, she fulfilled numerous operational roles in the Gaza Envelope region and has completed more than 400 days of reserve service. Previously, Alona worked at the Israeli Ministry of Justice in the Insolvency and Economic Rehabilitation Department. Alona is a dedicated, professional, and highly motivated legal practitioner with a strong commitment to learning and professional development in the field of international law. She is expected to begin her legal internship in the International Law Department (Counsel and Legislation Division) at the Israeli Ministry of Justice.

Emily is a Legal Intern at O7J and is currently studying for the Bar in England. She joined the team in July 2025. Emily shared: “Being part of O7J has been unlike any experience I have had before. Working on issues that are deeply personal and close to home has been profoundly meaningful, and contributing to the organisation’s mission is a true privilege. To me, being part of the O7J team means dedication, community, and a shared commitment to justice—working alongside others who share a common purpose, supporting one another, and contributing to something greater than ourselves.” Prior to joining O7J, Emily gained legal experience through a mini-pupillage with a criminal chambers at Durham Crown Court and by shadowing a family barrister at Newcastle Civic Centre. She also spent time with various teams at Sky in London, gaining insight into how in-house commercial law is practised.

Michalya brings over 20 years of experience in building strategic partnerships, managing multi-sector collaborations, and providing philanthropic advisory services to the social justice sector. As the Chief Advancement Officer at O7J, Michalya leads the advancement initiatives, focusing on enhancing the organisation's impact through capacity building, donor relations, and external communications. Michalya holds a BA from Columbia University and an MA in International Development from the University of the Witwatersrand.

Yu Lin is a Legal and Policy Fellow at O7J. She works on engagement with United Nations human rights mechanisms and supports the drafting of legal reports, policy papers, and strategic communications. Yu Lin is currently pursuing an MA in International Law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where she focuses on international human rights law, international humanitarian law, and transitional justice. She holds an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge and a BSc in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from VU Amsterdam. Passionate about social justice, Yu Lin brings over two years of experience working in think tanks and development consultancy in the United Kingdom. Her research has focused on a broad range of policy areas, including health and social policy, education, and inequality. She also volunteered for five months in a refugee camp in Lesvos, Greece, where she gained firsthand experience in refugee rights, humanitarian assistance, and emergency response. Originally from Taiwan, she is now based in Israel.

Yasmin Harel serves as Director of Strategic Partnerships and Resource Development at October 7 Justice Without Borders (O7J). Prior to joining O7J, Yasmin served as Cultural Diplomacy Project Manager at the Polish Institute in Tel Aviv, where she led initiatives to strengthen cultural and educational relations between Israel and Poland through strategic partnerships, international collaborations, and public diplomacy. Upon completing her tenure, she initiated and led the documentary project "In Their Own Words," documenting Ukrainian refugees who fled to Poland at the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. The project was photographed by Michal Chelbin, featured texts by journalist Shany Littman, and was published as a cover story in FT Weekend Magazine and in Israel's Haaretz newspaper. Selected works from the project were exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in London. The project received international recognition, was developed in collaboration with UNHCR (the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees), and was recognized for its social and cultural impact. Yasmin subsequently led the day-to-day management of The Phoenix Art Collection, one of Israel's leading corporate art collections. In this role, she was responsible for managing the collection and producing the exhibitions "In the Land of My Love" (Be'eretz Ahavati) at the Ramat Gan Museum of Israeli Art and "A Hundred Years of Art in Israel," presented by The Phoenix Art Collection at Christie's in New York. Earlier in her career, Yasmin also worked as a filmmaker and film producer. Her films received awards and were screened at film festivals in Israel and internationally. Yasmin holds an M.F.A. in Film and Television Directing and Production from Tel Aviv University and a B.Des. in Visual Communication from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design.

Shira Chippeck manages social media at O7J. She is a Bachelor's degree student in Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Bristol, with a particular interest in international law, accountability, and human rights. Shira joined O7J through its summer internship programme and later advanced to her current role, where she drafts social media content, prepares articles and supports the organisation's public outreach efforts. In the past, she completed legal placements at a criminal and family law firm and at KBW Chambers in the United Kingdom. Shira speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Dalia is the office manager of the organization. In the past, she was the personal assistant of industrialist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Eitan Wertheimer for 26 years. Before, she was the personal assistant of the chief financial officer of Ishkar Ltd. She retired about 3 years ago.

Zohar is O7J's field officer, responsible for field coordination and liaison. His extensive experience as both a police officer and a lawyer, combined with being a direct survivor of the massacre, make him uniquely suited for special assignments within the organization.

Ben is responsible for documenting testimonies, including legal documentation, under Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) developed by O7J. He is a photojournalist, documentarian, editor, and creator of documentary films. Since October 7, Ben has been leading the First Testimony project, in which victims provide detailed accounts of the atrocities committed. Ben is a social activist and has been involved in various civic initiative movements in recent years and has rich managerial experience in the field of social action.
